It’s that time of year again, time to make those New Year’s Resolutions. January 1 is a great time to quit smoking and start vaping because you will have millions of people joining you in the fun. If you are one of the millions of smokers how have tried to quit smoking in the past using conventional nicotine replacement therapies like patches, gums, and lozenges, then you also know that they do not always work.
According to a recent vaping study conducted by Dr Lamberto Manzol of the University of Chieti, Italy, smokers who switch to vaping for only two weeks have a 61 percent chance of remaining smoke-free for the long-term. 1. Vaping creates almost the same experience as smoking.
Most vapers agree that the first few hours of vaping takes some getting used to. With vaping, you don’t usually inhale as deeply as you would with a conventional cigarette. But once you adjust, you still enjoy that same rush of nicotine. In fact, thanks to the many delicious flavors of e-liquids these days, vaping is easily far more enjoyable than smoking over the long term. One thing is for sure. It’s never boring.

2. Vaping is 95 percent less harmful than smoking.
In 2015, the UK agency Public Health England in accordance with the Royal College of Physicians published research indicating that vaping is 95 percent less harmful than smoking. Why? Largely because the e-liquids in vaping devices do not contain the nasty tar and toxins of conventional cigarettes.
Vape juice is made from three primary ingredients which are all safe for human consumption. The first is propylene glycol, which is commonly found in iced teas, salad dressings, and packaged frostings. The second is vegetable glycerin, which is most often used as a sweetener in beverages and bakery items. The e-juice flavorings make up the rest.

3. Vaping is less addictive than smoking.
Most smokers are often told that the nicotine in combustible cigarettes is what kills you. However, the truth is far more alarming. Big Tobacco companies infuse their cigarettes will lots of unnecessary chemicals specifically designed to get you and keep you hooked. The e-liquids in vaping devices do not. Want more proof? Harvard University recently released a study indicating that it’s the additives in cigarettes that lead to tobacco addiction, not the nicotine.
4. E-liquids come in different levels of nicotine.
If your ultimate goal is to gradually eliminate your dependence on nicotine completely, then you should know that e-liquids come in a wide variety of different nicotine strengths. In fact, most vape juices even come in a zero-nicotine option. Nicotine is an addictive stimulant, but it is nowhere near as harmful as the chemicals and tar of combustible cigarettes.

5. Vaping is CHEAPER than smoking!
As the price of a pack of cigarettes continues to soar, newbies to vaping are often surprised at just how cheap vaping can be. The average price of a pack of smokes in the U.S. is somewhere around $6.50. New Yorkers and Californians pay over double that amount. And if you happen to live in countries like Australia, be prepared to pay in upwards of $40 per pack by 2020 or sooner.
Vaping, on the other hand, usually requires the purchasing of a small bottle of $10 e-liquid per week, give or take. This means that the money you save can go towards paying off those credit card bills from your Christmas shopping extravaganzas.
There are a million more reasons to quit smoking and switch to vaping as your New Year’s Resolution. Smoking diminishes your senses of taste and smell. Vaping not so much. Smoking results in dirty ash trays in the house and car? Vaping does not. Smoking gives you yellow fingers and stains your teeth. Vaping involves nothing of the sort.
So, before you try quitting smoking cold turkey, why not give yourself a break and buy a cheap e-cig and some vape juice? What have you got to lose?
