4 Ways that vaping CBD oil may help diabetes patients

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 100 million Americans suffer from either of the two forms of diabetes.  That’s approximately one-third of the U.S. population. Another 84.5 million people are considered prediabetic, which means that if they don’t begin taking the necessary steps for prevention, then they will likely receive a medical diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes within the next five years.

For several years now, advocates of cannabidiol or CBD have been enthusiastically flooding social media with the many medical marvels that this cannabis- or hemp-based product can induce.  Researchers have also documented multiple positive effects, such as its unique abilities to diminish muscle pain, reduce inflammation, and even cure migraine headaches.  Now scientists are discovering that vaping CBD may also help diabetes patients in at least four different ways.

Vaping CBD for obesity prevention

A larger waist circumference is one of the high-risk factors for Type 2 diabetes. The anti-inflammatory properties of CBD oils help lower the BMI (body mass index) by reducing weight gain caused by inflammation.  Many users even claim that vaping CBD oil acts as a natural appetite suppressant, too, which helps them avoid chronic overeating that also often contributes to obesity.

Research is also currently being conducted on whether CBD oils might secretly manipulate the body’s “fat browning“ processes in which white adipose (or white fat) tissues convert naturally to brown adipose tissues.  White adipose stores fat, and brown adipose burns it.

Vaping CBD for neuropathy management

Many patients struggling with diabetes often experience progressive neuropathy disorders or nerve damage.  The most common symptoms occur in the hands and feet, but any part of the human body is susceptible.  Neuropathy issues can present themselves in the form of a tingling or numbness in the affected areas.

Due to its well-documented abilities to relieve pain, new research in this area is on the rise.  In fact, many scientists believe but have yet to confirm that CBD oils provide faster and more effective pain relieve for neuropathy patients than conventional medications.  Researchers also suspect that CBD enhances the body’s ability to grow and repair damaged nerve cells while protecting the liver from unnecessary oxidative stress.

Vaping CBD for healing skin rashes

Another negative side effect of diabetes is that its patients often struggle with issues of severe, chronic skin sensitivity issues.  They also commonly experience the rapid onset of strange skin rashes and other irritations across various parts of the body.

CBD oils already have an excellent reputation as an anti-inflammatory which can aid in the reduction of these skin disorders.  Its many moisturizing benefits also help prevent new outbreaks while reducing the burning, itching, and general discomfort associated with these conditions.

Vaping CBD for improved insulin resistance

Insulin is produced by the body’s pancreas, and its primary function is to regulate blood sugar levels.  Sometimes when the body’s cells inject insulin into the bloodstream, the body is incapable of absorbing the glucose or sugar necessary to produce energy. As a result, the body only continues to build up more and more unused insulin, which is a key contributing factor to the overall health of prediabetes and diabetes patients.

Researchers believe that CBD oil’s anti-inflammatory properties have an as-yet-unexplainable way of improving insulin resistance.  They aren’t quite sure how it all works, but loads of new research studies are currently being conducted to learn more.  The current predominant hypothesis is that CBD reduces diabetes-associated inflammation which allows the cardiovascular system to function more efficiently.  In turn, the diminished inflammation levels then bolster the body’s sugar metabolic rates.
