4 fun reasons to switch to vaping as your new year’s resolution
As the clock winds down on 2018, many Americans are planning to quit smoking as their new year’s resolution. Most have tried to quit unsuccessfully in the past, but let’s be honest. Quitting smoking the old-fashioned way through the cold turkey method is excruciating and rarely works long-term.
We get moody and irritable. We also have the tendency to overcompensate by eating around the clock as a substitution for smoking. Before you know it, we’ve alienated our friends, family members, and coworkers with our wild mood swings, and our self-esteem begins to suffer as we start packing on the pounds. Within days or maybe weeks, most of us revert back to smoking just to get our lives back on track.
But the desire to quit smoking persists. So eventually, we might decide to give those nicotine transdermal patches, gums, or lozenges a try. Unfortunately, most of these outdated smoking cessation systems are promoted by Big Pharma and have proven to be minimally effective.

A 2014 study conducted out of the UK indicates that using vapor technology as a tobacco harm reduction tool improves a smoker’s chances of long-term smoking abstinence by as much as 50 percent compared to other nicotine replacement therapies or NRTs. The scientists attribute this higher rate of success to the simple hand-to-mouth actions and other emotional triggers that both vaping and smoking share.
This form of substitution therapy helps ease the mental stress involved in quitting almost immediately. Patches and gums do nothing to address these sorts of addictive physical behaviors. 2. Join some vaping communities and have some fun.
Sure, there are lots of quit smoking communities online to help people cope with the nasty side effects of quitting smoking, but they seldom work and are rarely fun. Who wants to travel to an online chat group of formers smokers who spout bumper sticker slogans like “fake it ‘till you make it” or “one day at a time?”
Vaping communities, on the other hand, are a whole lot of fun. Instead of complaining about your lot in life, about the mood swings and irritability that comes with quitting smoking, about the extra weight gain, newbie vapers can ask veterans about more interesting topics.

The average price of a pack of cigarettes is between six and eight dollars, and a pack of smokes only lasts about a day or less for most smokers. New Yorkers are forced to pay even more, as much as $13 per pack or higher.
